I like the idea of shitting on pivots lazy comedy but I feel like you could do way better. I mean, have you SEEN bptv? Also his racial humor seems to be less about race and more about being offensive for its own sake so making a video like this arguably just plays right into that. Kudos to the NG voters for giving this first place over some overwatch parody though, it's a step in the right direction.
Yea but that would be mean.
Everything you guys didn't like was jons fault, I don't have any beef with any YouTube comedians, dox Jon if you have to dox somebody, love trumps hate
Nobody let this fucking rat fool them, "Jon" and "Flikkernicht" and all related properties are characters created by Patrick Pjorg Daniels and PLEASE ignore his disparaging remarks against President Donald J. Trump
Keep up the good work

Ok. ! :0
Shitty, but I guess you maybe tried???
Okay, so, for starters, the graphics look like ass. I get it, it's a sprite movie. But that can't be an excuse for making a cartoon that looks terrible. Listen, I've got no probs with a cartoon that looks crummy in the interest of style, because I do that kind of crap all the time in my own stuff and I enjoy a lot of cartoons with "bad" art. But this doesn't even look bad in an interesting or appealing way. It just looks lazy and shitty.
All this could have been rectified if there was some kind of comedic merit to any of the scenes. One has a dude that gets hit with an arrow, and thats the end. Sorry, spoilers. That's just not funny to me. Fuckin tom and jerry had more interesting gags than that. Then in the other one, one of the "characters" says porn and they go back and forth yelling. Ha ha? The last one I watch clearly showed some more involvement and earned this movie a few more points for me, but the writing was still really cringingly unfunny to me.
The only thing was this movie obviously had some effort put into it, though not a very visible amount. Corners were cut all around, but there are a few I suppose you could have cut even shorter. Oh, and the menu music was annoying as hell.
oh hey rox's brother.
For starters, its pretty awful that so many people are failing to immediately recognize that this is supposed to be satire. Just sort of goes to show why the game parodies that this parody.... parodies can be so vapid yet so popular. The fact is, a lot of the reviewers are idiots.
I'm a big fan of satires when they're well done, and this one was pretty close, but ultimately it fell a little short of the mark for me in the execution. I think it's the ironic laugh track bits to be honest, and those seem to make up about half the movie. But the best satire, in my opinion, is the most subtle. And the fact is that even in video game parodies, they don't have laugh tracks. That doesn't mean that it can't be funny to use them ironically, but that joke itself has already been done. Like, too many times to count. So all they really serve to do here is hit us over the head with "Get it guys? It's NOT really that funny!"
Granted, I started this review pointing out that a lot of people didn't get it, which most people would take as a cue to make the point of the movie MORE obvious. But thats the thing: pandering to a wider base of people is why the shitty movies this one parodies exist in the first place.
Next time I'd say you're better off just playing it a little more cool. That said, I still liked a lot of this, clearly you're an intelligent writer who is trying to do something different, and thats a lot more than some of the people on the front page these days can say.
I'm gonna be honest here.
Brewster, usually I don't really like your cartoons. I don't know what it is, because I know that you're a funny and original guy, so it always through me off when you made a cartoon and it was just like that gay ultimate happiness shit. I think you've made progress lately with more well structured stuff like those Nata entries you did but even then the crisp animation and clear storytelling didn't really mean anything because ultimately I still never felt like I was seeing anything new. There was always this general sense of know how basically everything was going to play out through the whole movie. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, but I knew a guy like you should have been taking bigger risks because (old magical negro voice ) you got the chops for it kiddo.
Then this shit came out. Goddamn. Marty showed it to me first and I remember the first thing I said was "Brewster made a cartoon I actually like." Maybe this is just my overly postmodern sense of humor but I think you fuckin killed it with this one. The dialogue and the visuals both revel in this surreal sort of limbo that blends the ultra dry with the totally absurd. I MEAN ONE OF THE CHARACTERS IS A FUCKING BLUE TRIANGLE MILKMAN LIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT. The pacing is brilliant. Again, feels like everything thing they say is fluctuating between two different frequencies, each emphasizing the other. If you'll permit me to go totally artsy fartsy hipster critic for a minute here, I'd say that this cartoon has the comic timing equivalent of math rock. You set up our expectations, and then immediately 180, and then do it again in the next sentence THEY NEVER ADDRESS IT HE IS CARRYING AROUND BOTTLED MILK IN SOME RANDOM FIELD So well done Brewster. This is a good cartoon. But I'm still giving you 4/5. It's very good, but I think you're still just beginning to break into what you're really capable of. Keep up the good SERIOUSLY A MILKMAN COEXISTS WITH BIG BANG THEORY SEASON TWO LET THAT SINK IN
Please allow me to insert your penis into my mouth,
First off, thanks for this actual review.
I totally agree with you about my previous stuff. It's not that I'm not proud of my old work, but looking back it's definitely nothing special. I've always had a sense of humor but I've always had a hard time fusing my 'comedic' 'stylings' and my animation. I felt like I kinda broke personal ground with Voyaging the Void. It was a small step but there was definitely a piece of my sense of humor in there, rather than that gay "for moms" kinda stuff that I always did. I too thought I needed to be taking bigger risks, especially after I got out of NATA this year. I think what gave me the confidence to take this risk was actually your and Marty's Animated Memes.
I legitimately think that's one of the funniest things on Newgrounds. When I saw that I kinda wanted to do something similar, but not too similar, so when I was recording this I had Animated Memes in mind (two guys talking, long uncomfortable pauses, dumb nonsense jokes). And it made me realize something. Whenever I would try to write a comedy video it would always be me trying to think of a central joke, with maybe a couple throw away jokes thrown in there so it doesn't get boring. This would all leading up to one big punchline, but the punchlines always lacked the punch.
There are certain people, like McBinkles, who can establish a premise, deliver a punchline and boom, joke in animated form. I can't do that. What I can do is deliver a bunch of quick, slightly above average gags without making a big deal out of them. If you took out any one of the jokes here and tried to use it on its own, it would bomb horribly. I realize that, and so I tried to bombard the viewer with as many jokes as possible until maybe one of them got a laugh. And it seems like that worked for the most part. I've been getting reviews saying that they only laughed the staredown part, or like the guy above you said he "lost it at kids bop 5". I just hope I can figure out a way to keep telling jokes in this style without it getting stale.
I kinda got off topic there a little, anyway thanks for writing all that and thanks for being a real great pal. Thanks!
oh i get its a choich between destiny
I love you
This is so beautiful
This review is probably worthless but
